UNWTO showcases My Green Butler
My Green Butler was selected to appear in the UNWTO annual magazine as an example of progress in sustainable tourism. “Being selected by UNWTO as a case example is an honour for our team and an endorsement of our breakthrough behaviour change research”, says Christopher Warren, programme director of My Green Butler. The article is available to down load here.
What makes this project particularly important is that it demonstrates that partnerships are key for innovative sustainable tourism solutions. My Green Butler is collaboration between Crystal Creek Meadows (the inventors of the system) and destinations, NGOs and tourist accommodation providers around the world who have put up their hands and are prepared to trial the system. It demonstrates that guest participation is a credible sustainable tourism area of focus to achieve resource savings. The range of collaborators in this project is also an important example; they are not exclusively ecotourism but involve mainstream tourism destinations and international hotel chains, as well as smaller establishments, it is from the big to small. The challenge of involving guests is now understood to be essential across tourism.
Christopher, along with recognised international experts, will be explaining ways to engage holidaymakers at the World Travel Market in London on 6th.
